Dussehra comes at Ashwini Sud Dasham according to Hindu Calendar. According to Christian Calendar Dussehra comes in the months of October-November. Dussehra tithi is important due to various Festive reasons. I will like to share how many coordinations of the Festive are there in only one Day of Dussehra.
1. Dussehra is Celebrated as Ravana Dahan.
On this day in India people make a Big Statue of Ravana. That statue of Ravana is made out of wood & inside that Statue Fire Crackers are fixed in such a way that the Statue can be burst with the help of that Fire Crackers. Then at Evening people burns out that statue with the help of Bow & Arrow.
The Reason & Ritual behind Ravana Dahan.
At the time of Satyug i.e. at the time of the Era of the Birth of Lord Rama. Demon King Ravana was a very Powerful & Violentic Demon King with the Knowledge as well as with the Power of Violence. He use to injured Humans. He use to torcher the Humans during his Era.
So, Lord Vishnu took the Avatar of Lord Rama on the Earth & killed him due to his Violentic Deeds on the People & for the Misuse of his Power & Position on the Earth. After his death the people just spoke one sentence that it’s the Winning of Truth upon the Evil.
That means whenever the Violence will increase on the Earth & Peace & Truth will start being diminishing that for making the Truth Win upon the Evil the God will take the Birth on this Earth to save the People from Evil & to once again inaugurate the Truth on the Earth.
This is one of the reason of celebrating the Dussehra. Now I’ll tell the another Ritual which is celebrated during Dussehra.
2. Worshipping Goddess Durga, Saraswati & Lakshamiji at Dussehra.
On Dussehra another Festive which is celebrated is Worshipping The Goddess of Strength, Knowledge & Wealth. The Goddess of Strength is Goddess Durga. The Goddess of Knowledge is Goddess Saraswati.
